6. Individualized

Negotiate to meet the unique/specific needs of the employer and skills of the job seeker, one person at a time.

When you are looking for a job, your personal gifts and strengths will be acknowledged. If you have specific issues that are important to you personally, or unique requirements that need to be accommodated, it is important to discuss what adjustments you may need. It is also very important that the job you are looking for is a good match for you and your employer.

The next important thing to consider is the environment or conditions of employment that suit your personality. For example, you may want to work in a quiet workplace. Or maybe you’d prefer to work in a place that is active and loud. Some people prefer to work outdoors, others indoors. Some like working with people, others like working with things.

Sometimes where you work (the environment) is more important than the job you do. No matter what, you need to remember that you are part of a business that needs you to be productive by using your skills and abilities, so it is important to find the right place of employment.
